Agreed - I hate the overly frugal stuff. I spend 30% of my net pay on ‘fun’ costs and I can spend it on whatever I want totally guilt free. This could be a fancy coat, a trip, a Michelin star restaurant. The beauty is that we have choice. But most people either spend all their money on this kind of stuff OR try and spend nothing then burn out as it’s not sustainable

Hard agree! I’m team conscious spending - the frugality stuff just isn’t for me 🙈 we want financial freedom so we can live well. Seems counterintuitive to me to live a life of deprivation in order to get there.

“Sam Vimes' "Boots" Theory of Socio-economic Unfairness, coined by Terry Pratchett, states that being poor is more expensive than being rich. Poor individuals buy low-quality, cheap items that require frequent replacement, spending more over time than wealthy individuals who afford high-quality items that last for years, perpetuating poverty”
