@shawnthefoodsheep: Welcome back to my Houston Best Brunches series. Today we’re at Zaranda, a newer upscale Mexican spot in downtown from the team behind Hugo’s, Xochi, and Caracol. They lean into a “Las Californias” concept, a borderless blend of Mexican, Californian, and global flavors, and it shows across the menu. The roasted oysters were unreal, and the pan de elote with peaches and mandarin honey was a standout. Portions are big. We ordered a few starters and were already getting full. The Baja breakfast burrito is massive, and the sand dollar dessert was a perfect, refreshing finish.
