If you poke a hole (to vent) in the “top” of the filter before you drain the oil, the oil should drain out of the filter because there’s no negative pressure

It doesn’t work all the time but I like running my finger along the rim of the drain plug and most time that makes enough momentum if the threads aren’t too messed up for it to spin itself out
