I grew up across the lake from Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth where the B-52’s were stationed. I miss seeing them fly. Some of the most menacing planes I’ve seen.

Grew up near Barksdale. We used to hang out at the north end of the runway outside the fence as they landed over our heads. Loud isn’t the word for it.

lived at Carswell along the run way in housing...our house shook all hours of the night and day. Watched the last B52 leave before the base closed in 1992.

When I was a kid, I attended an Air Force vs Army football game at the Air Force Academy. There were multiple flybys before the game and one was by a B-52. I remember as it flew over, my father (USAF pilot) leaned over to me and said, “I’m pretty sure he’s not supposed to be that low.” It was super impressive.
