What on earth are you talking about? Leonardo DiCaprio was on TV when he was a teenager before he did movies. He was on Growing Pains and before that was in an early tv version of Parenthood and a ton of commercials. He was also in Romeo and Juliet a year before Titanic so he was already extremely popular.
