@whatilovetodo: Here we go again 😅 trying something new tonight carabiners + zipper locks. My son has Angelman Syndrome and is a total Houdini, so we’re basically throwing spaghetti at the wall hoping something finally works 🤞 #angelmansyndrome #specialneedsmom #parentinghacks #realmomlife
Honestly, if I bought safety pajamas for $40 and I could unzip them like that as easy as you did, I would be pissed.

Have you tried a button down dress shirt over the pjs? It sounds crazy but it worked for one of my friends kiddos

I’m not sure if it’s Griffin I seen in a transportation vest, blue straps, and it has zippers in the back. If you go to the Bus company that transports special needs students they may have an old vest with adjustable zippers in the back. You could take the heavy buckles off that are used to secure them in a vehicle.. some have straps that go between the legs they’re made out of seatbelts.

@Kelly:what if the top 3-5 inches of the pj's were sewn shut so that he would put them on by putting his legs in and then pulling the top over like a t-shirt then putting his arms through and doing up the zipper?

What if you bought a sensory sleep sack and put it on him backwards? It covers the hands and maybe it’ll be harder to undo! Similar to sleep sacks babies have that cover their hands, suggesting this as I stare at my 3m old in a sleep sack lol.

So I am a sewist you might be able to try seeing a little patch of a non stretchy fabric where you want the grommets then try putting the grommets in with the reinforced area

I wonder if someone would be willing to create a set similar to what you use now, but with a dual pull zipper that can meet in the middle (like on a bag or backpack). That way you'd have two zipper pulls you could lock together in the middle of his back more away from his reach.

Griffin is so strong and angelman syndrome is so hard this has nothing was sent. I had scoliosis and a speech impediment and it was hard and he’s going through so many things.

Have you tried putting the carabiner lock through the button hole on the denim? Since denim is a lot stronger than the stretchy pajamas?

What if you try adding some iron-on interfacing to the fabric before adding the grommet? It helps make that section non-stretchy

maybe the jean jacket but instead of using the buttons, paracord and tie it together so that way it’s tighter and the knot can be lower.

What about the compression shorts swim suit type thing for kids over his diaper and a zipper fussed down to his shoulder blade area on the pjs so he can’t reach the zipper pull?

Put a zipper on the Jean jacket and have it zip from top to bottom. Rig the end of the zipper so that it tucks into a a flap

Maybe sewing around the grommet so you have the strength of it but the stitches hold it in place

I wonder if you could have a double zipper, where it zips down from the top, but also has a second zipper from the bottom, and then clip them together when you meet the zippers in the middle with a carabiner or even a small padlock, hope that makes sense.
