10 things I stopped doing that transformed my postpartum body 👀🍑 1. Rushing my postpartum recovery. I returned to the gym 6 months after giving birth because I had a forceps delivery and episiotomy. Healing comes first, and everyone’s recovery timeline is different. 2. Doing random exercises. I started following a structured programme and prioritising my main lifts instead of doing whatever machine was available. 3. Thinking more exercises = more gains. You don’t need 10 exercises per session. Quality over quantity, ALWAYS. 4. Chasing the burn. Feeling the burn doesn’t automatically mean muscle growth. Good form, sufficient effort and progressive overload matter more. 5. Changing my workouts every week. Your muscles don’t need a new routine every Monday. Consistency + progressive overload! 6. Neglecting my core and pelvic mobility. After pregnancy, I focused more on my anterior pelvic tilt, strengthening my deep core and glutes, improving hip mobility and pelvic control. A slight pelvic tilt is normal! 7. Thinking eating less = better results. I stopped under-fuelling my body. Protein, carbs and eating enough are essential for muscle growth and recovery. 8. Thinking soreness = growth. You don’t need to be walking like you’ve been hit by a bus after leg day to know your workout was effective 😭 9. Comparing my postpartum body to other women. Some women bounce back in months, others take years. Your body isn’t on anybody else’s timeline. 10. Expecting overnight results. Building muscle takes TIME. Stop restarting every few weeks because you can’t see results yet. You don’t need to train harder, you need to train SMARTER. And remember, your postpartum body doesn’t need punishing. It needs patience, proper nutrition and consistency. ❤️ Save this for later and follow for more fitness advice from a girl who’s made just about every gym mistake herself.
