@globalscoreboost: If you’re still starting CELPIP Reading by reading the entire passage first, you’re already losing valuable time and possibly your score. The highest scorers don’t read everything. They read strategically. Here’s the shift that changes everything: Start with the question. This immediately tells you what the examiner is testing, detail, inference, vocabulary, or main idea. Without that clarity, you’re just reading blindly. Once you read the question, identify the keywords. These are your anchors. In a question about “physical differences between male and female narwhals,” your brain is now trained to look specifically for comparisons, descriptive traits, and contrasting language. Next, scan the passage -not slowly read it. Your goal is speed with precision. Look for where those keywords (or their synonyms) appear. Remember, CELPIP rarely repeats words exactly. Instead of “physical differences,” you might see “distinct features” or “visible characteristics.” This is where many test-takers make mistakes. They look for exact matches instead of meaning. Once you locate the relevant section, slow down and read only that part carefully. Now, match the meaning of the paragraph to the question. Don’t rush this step. The test is designed to include traps and answers that look similar but don’t fully answer the question. Your job is to choose the option that aligns completely with the idea in the passage. Finally, select your answer with confidence and move on. Overthinking wastes time and reduces accuracy. Trust your process. This method is what separates CLB 7 from CLB 10+. It’s not about reading more, it’s about reading smarter. Practice this technique consistently, especially under timed conditions, and you’ll notice your speed, accuracy, and confidence improve dramatically. Stop reading everything. Start reading with intention. That’s how you win CELPIP Reading. SAVE THIS POST FOR YOUR NEXT PRACTICE. #CELPIP #LanguageLearning #studyhacks #CanadaImmigration #testprep
