I think the people that say that like they have to give up their entire life and all their money spending on their self are just sad because what from my experience from what I can remember from my childhood, my parents never had to spend money on me my other two brothers they did so on their free will they always had stuff for their self that they needed that they wanted like it’s such a sad life. You lived to where your life revolves around your kid as soon as it’s born, you’re buying like 600 of everything just because they look at it. I’m not saying tell them no and I’m not saying ground them or whatever when they have a tantrum I’m just saying slow down a bit and put away the luxury brands you were buying in favor of cheaper stuff just so you can afford the child and yourself.

Nah, my parents had there own stuff and did things for themselves. We didn’t weekends at friends houses and at our grandparents house so my parents could do their own thing. We did have the financial ability to buy houses let alone raise kids.

I haven't slept thru the night in 13 years, it's because I have a cat who demands I wake up and give him something, like kids can be annoying AF but kids grow up and become little people of their own. parenting is only as exhausting as you make it.

I do really think its a problem, my mom wasn't a good mom and I had to take care of her like she was my child and when she had another child I had to take care of that child at 2am on a school night cuz she was "tired" so I'm good on kids I feel like I've already had enough.

I’m 26 and I genuinely do not have kids because I can’t afford to live any type of life and I would not want to put the trauma on my kids that my parents put on me. It’s a simple as that call me jealous call me whatever you want, but at the end of the day, it’s a smarter decision than what my parents made.

I don't think it's selfishness, I just think there is a greater awareness of what having children entails and knowing they they aren't ready or know it's something they don't want for themselve which is ok

I am a millennial mom and I have no problem telling my son no. Life is not about handouts and what we want. If he wants what I have I don’t have to share and neither does he when it comes to his things. I do what I expect of him with other people.

nah it would be selfish for me to have a kid, i have a hereditary autoimmune disorder that makes my life hell. why on earth would i give that to another person? also i straight up dont like kids. people say “oh you’ll change your mind”… why do you want someone who actively says i don’t like kids to have a kid?
