Wow! Nowhere in any AA literature does it claim that you can’t have medication or therapy. Nowhere.

Sober 17 1/2 years. I didn’t work the program. I was told it was the only way. I am more than a very happy successful sober individual

My husband didn’t like AA either. He was told by someone that he wouldn’t stay sober if he didn’t go to meetings. He’s 9 years sober now. Everyone’s journey is different, do what works for you!

AA absolutely supports therapy (outside help) and I take medications for my mental health. I have never heard that AA doesn’t support prescription medications.

I quit cold turkey, no AA.
I saw a therapist for a few months, but that was it.
Don't believe the BS, do what works for you, and don't allow others to shame you

Addicts need to work their own program based upon their own experiences and their own strengths and weaknesses. Once you find your niche, you have the upper hand on the addiction. Stay in your groove girl. It’s working and that’s the only result that matter. The ends do justify the means. ❤️

I’ve been in AA for 30 yrs. Please don’t say ‘they’. I’m on meds/therapy. do what works for. What’s important is that you are sober and alive

For the record, they do believe in medication/therapy. There’s several references to outside help. Also there are dual diagnosis meetings where alcoholism and mental health issues can be shared on. Super proud of your sobriety Katie. Your videos were some of the first I seen That gave me hope and led me to my program. So thank you for your service. 💛

I don’t “work a program” either. I go to meetings to hold myself accountable, don’t drink, and try to be a better person.

8 months sober from alcohol tomorrow. AA did not work for me but I enjoy hearing others stories. I 100 percent believe I can stay sober without AA and without a sponsor.
I really enjoy your content. I relate to it a lot so thank you for sharing your life!
