@morgan.on.money: My net worth at 37 (March update!) and I am on track to retire in my 40s. I've been kind of stuck here for the last ~3 months (even though I've invested nearly $50,000 since January) because of the latest stock market volatility. My biggest regret of my 20s is not knowing what a Roth IRA is and totally forgetting about it until recently This is the result of 15 years of increasing my income combined with 7 years of very disciplined and responsible money habits (budgeting, living below my means, investing regularly). Grab a free personal finance checklist for beginners in my bio if you are ready to take control of your money in 2026.

To have this much wealth and still living in a primary residence worth close to the average home is why she has this much. She invests more than she spends. 👏

How are you on track to retire in your 40s? People who retire at 65/70 need $3M to retire and if you retire in your 40s you’ll need about an additional 30 years of living expenses beyond the $3M.

that target date fund is not doing you any favors. I find that they all underperform no matter how far out the date

Love this. People need to see that it’s very possible to build wealth as a 9-5er with the right strategy.

Generally don’t want to count your primary residence in your net worth since you can’t really liquidate it without spending that money elsewhere.

Very impressive. I’d recommend getting out of the target fund for your 401k. Fees are likely very high.

Ditch those target date funds. Just create ur own via etfs. Youre young. TD funds have higher fees. Fees bad.

How much does your rental cash flow? Would it make sense to move that money to equities, or are you getting a string tax benefit from owning a rental?
