It was scary at first but once you start to trust yourself and your intuition, it’s very empowering and sooooo nice. This are good general rules for everyone in every situation. People don’t realize how vulnerable you are out in nature. You should never be off absolutely no one’s radar. And this behavior will be adopted by others. it’s a good precedent to set. One suggestion I would add if you are going to talk to a stranger while alone, mislead them by referring yourself as part of a group, tell them things “we are out here doing…” or “my team is nearby”. I pray you are never put in actual danger and thank you for ecology work, I hope to start doing some in a few months.
