I also really think it’s weird because we’re genuinely staring at someone’s pants and trying to look at their external organs and I feel like that’s some kind of sexual misconduct because if someone’s going to look at my breasts, I will cry. Why is it OK to do it to someone else because one person wrong with you in the past why are we subjecting another person to that that had nothing to do with it?

I get why some women feel like “catching print” is justified—there’s definitely been a long history of women being judged on their bodies. But I think there are a few problems with this logic: 1. Two wrongs don’t cancel each other out. Replicating the same kind of body shaming just keeps the cycle going. 2. It’s not actually targeting the people who did the harm. A lot of the men being mocked probably haven’t shamed anyone—they’re just random individuals getting caught in it. 3. It’s not really a 1:1 comparison. Boobs are visible secondary sex characteristics (closer to something like muscles on men). Genitals are more private and tied to vulnerability, identity, and historically even dehumanization. So the impact lands differently. If the goal is to move away from body shaming, this trend kind of pushes things in the opposite direction.
