An emergency fund is the money you set aside for situations you didn’t plan for. Medical bills, job loss, urgent needs… things that can shake you if you’re not prepared. Without it, you panic, borrow, and fall into stress. With it, you stay calm, make better decisions, and protect your future. Start small. Even the little you have matters. Be consistent. Treat saving like a responsibility, not an option. Aim for at least 3 to 6 months of your basic expenses, but don’t overwhelm yourself. Start with what you can your first 50k, 100k… just start. And most importantly, keep this money separate. Easy to access in emergencies, but not easy to spend carelessly. At the end of the day, an emergency fund is not a luxury it’s security.
