I lived in Singapore from 1985 till 1992 and went back there from 1999 to 2001. It took me a while to understand this man but I realized in time that he was undoubtedly a great politician

In as much asLKY was a great leader, the damage slavery and colonialism did to Africa was never the same on Singapore. To understand this, you need to answer the question of why did the British colonize Singapore? and why did they colonize Africa? They went to Singapore primarily for its location and so they laid a foundation that would facilitate that. On the other hand, they came to Africa primarily to loot and plunder our natural resources, and so they created a condition that would ensure that

Africa suffered the most on imperialism even till this day where in some countrys slavery is a day to day thing. Why? Resources. Africa is still the richest continent BY FAR, and the big country have always wanted a piece. Yes singapour was trash before WW2 or rigth after, but then had 60 years of ininterrumped goverment, no assadinstions or CIA conflicts like south america, no imperialism and small wars under the cold war like africa or the middle east, nobody care for them and nobody messed with them simple.

The leader sets the direction and use their decision making power to steer the nation in that direction. People will move in every direction if the leaders are not strong. Leaders plan, secure resources, find partners, so that the people can execute and put it into action. Never discount the importance of the leader. An orchestra needs a leader for direction. A leader facilitates the creation of music. Without the leader you get a lot of noise.
