It is a Blue Monday at our Virginia production facility! Team Monoflo is manufacturing an order of AS/RS 350x500 Automation Trays for one of the largest wholesale grocers in the country. Our precision-engineered automation trays adhere to strict specifications, enabling the smooth movement of non-conveyable items on high-speed conveyors within automated warehouses. If you look closely at this advanced In-Mold Labeling (IML) production cell, you will notice that the FANUC robot is not applying the barcode labels onto the trays — it is applying the labels onto the End-Of-Arm Tool (EOAT). The labels placed on the EOAT are embedded directly into the mold during the tray manufacturing process and integrated seamlessly into the plastic, mitigating the risk of the labels peeling or being damaged. The IML process is especially critical in cold storage applications (like grocery distribution) where traditional adhesive labels may be affected by temperature variations. As the FANUC robot applies the barcode labels to the EOAT, our real-time barcode verification system confirms both trays are equipped with a matching and sequential label set, ensuring accurate tracking and optimal performance within automated systems.
