@yoursouthend: A young man who lost his leg to cancer was given a moment he’ll never forget on Southend seafront, as crowds cheered him on while he ‘sent it’ down the strip in his wheelchair! It happened during Saturday’s huge nostalgic 90s car meet on the seafront. Ashley Bebbington said: “He’s a very good mate of mine - he got cancer and had to have his leg amputated. His mum let him come down for the car meet and boy did they all make his night!” Harvey Archer, the young man who uses the wheelchair, said: “It’s now a core memory for me!” This is what makes the car scene community so strong. It’s not just about cars - it’s people coming together and connecting. Video by Stacey Chapman.
