@archtgswag: In the USSR, chicken was not just a meal, it was a real challenge for the hostess! In the shops were the famous "bluebirds" — thin, wiry laying hens with paws and a head that had to be singed over gas and boiled for three hours. But which of them turned out to be a broth — the current broilers could not even dream of! It was considered real chic to get an imported Hungarian chicken in a bag or to stand in line for the first grilled chicken, which was carried home as a jewel. And the main ritual of the country was fried chicken on a train wrapped in newspaper — without this smell of garlic and foil, no journey was considered successful. Do you remember the blue bird from the deli? #USSR #sovietunion #history #story
