I forgot to update my address on my V5 logbook after I moved house during that period I parked in an unauthorized location thinking it was free and all the tickets were sent to my previous address they became overdue and ended up costing me about £5000 😢

l should have started the driving licence process as soon as l landed. Rather l focused on getting various certs/tickets in the construction and railway space which is all good though. Driving is paramount here.

Another one for me was opening multiple accounts early on without realising how it affects your credit file/score😂. In the UK, your credit history controls more things than you expect.

I wanted to go into IT when I first got here but was conflicted cos I studied engineering. Practiced engineering for years and eventually switched to IT. Best decision I ever made. Advise I’d give is if you have a feeling or passion for something, do everything to get there…a job you love is better than a job you do just for the money
