Kenneth Law is accused of encouraging the suicides of 14 Canadians after they bought poison from websites he allegedly ran, and is due to go on trial next week. But the impact isn’t confined to Canada – more than a hundred deaths in the UK have also been linked to him. Investigators believe Law sent some 1200 packages to buyers in 40 countries between 2020 and 2023. Tom Parfett and Claire Lee are two of more than 100 people in the UK whose deaths have been linked to the 59-year-old former chef. Canadian prosecutors can only charge Kenneth Law over deaths that happened there. Tom and Claire’s dads are part of a group calling for broader action as similar forums and websites are still operating. They want action from Ofcom and a public inquiry. Kenneth Law is expected to plead not guilty to the charges.
