🩷 I learned a lot of interesting things about the color pink while making this video! Today, pink is strongly associated with women, but it wasn’t always like that. This might not be a secret to many, but pink used to be considered a masculine color, because it’s essentially a softened version of red, which symbolizes aggression and warlike strength. Girls, on the other hand, were associated with blue — a gentle, heavenly color. 🦩 The situation began to change around the 1920s, when marketing gradually started assigning pink to girls. It’s not entirely clear why this happened, but one theory is that companies producing children’s toys wanted to encourage parents to buy different items for boys and girls. And now we’re left with a deeply rooted stereotype where pink = girls. 🌸 From this, another idea follows: in society, pink is often seen as the color of infatuation and naivety. There’s a reason the phrase “to take off rose-colored glasses” exists. It may be an uncomfortable thought, but it also feels like the world would be much less interesting and far more dull — without the naivety, tenderness, and sense of falling in love that pink represents. 🌷 And here’s a more positive point! In modern culture, pink is no longer tied exclusively to girls. Now it can symbolize glamour, extravagance, joy for life, and much more. 💕Here’s another fun fact: as many people know, in anime, characters’ hair colors are rarely random. Pink hair often represents tenderness and femininity — usually kind and sweet characters, sometimes hiding great strength, especially when we’re talking about softer shades of pink. Brighter tones, like fuchsia, tend to represent more eccentric characters, who may also have a selfish side.
