If you’re a baker. You’re making large quantities in which a microgram scale is pointless and a waste of money.

lol, can't imagine weighing flour on my little gem scale. I honestly don't care if I have .002 extra grams of salt🤣

Uhhh 1/2 teaspoon of salt is 3 grams. This is pointless unless you are mixing a cookie at a time. Would be great for Mary Jane though

I think adjusting for temperature/humidity of the room makes a bigger difference than the tiny adjustments on that scale.

Can I ask pastry chefs out there…why and how do they come up with the most random weight of each ingredient in each recipe …like 177g flour, 1.2g salt, 38g egg white etc…is it because the recipe was derived from a recipe that made a larger batch? If not, why these odd numbers?

Maybe if you need to weigh xanthum gum. I had one recipe tell me I needed 1/16th of a teaspoon.

I have that scale and I am very particular with measuring ingredients, the mismatch situation is when you try to follow a recipe and you realize the measurements are make with the other scale, your recipe is wrong
