Let me be clear about what we saw inside Polk County Animal Control in Florida. These dogs weren’t just “calm.” They were lethargic. We called them to the front of the kennels… they didn’t get up. Didn’t look at us. Didn’t respond. It wasn’t that hot. And this was not typical trazodone or gabapentin behavior. I’ve run a facility for over 5 years. I know what healthy, responsive dogs look like. This wasn’t that. And for the people asking “why would you say this?” Why would I make this up? There are plenty of shelters I could film for content.
