You should make a series out of this, or a guide. Lots of people being laid off have never been in this situation and it’s overwhelming and destabilizing. It’s system overwhelm and survival takes over.

Why do so many people fall for the corporate lie? They pay you less than you’re worth and the more you move up, the less time you have to enjoy your life. I started an online business off the side of my desk and built it up slowly until it replaced my salary. Now the only cap on my earnings is my own ambition and “severance packages” are no longer in my vocabulary

My place of employment got rid of me after I got hurt at work and needed surgery. The day before I was to return to work they called me and told me to clean out my locker after 16 years of service. They told me WSIB can take care of me when in fact WSIB never did. Should I be awarded a severance package?
