Its a great guide, but if you want to germinate a lot faster, stick them on some damp kitchen roll, stick them in a zip lock bag. Some seeds that can take a week or more to germinate will start in 24-48hrs. Then once germinated, transfer them to pots etc.

Temperature is important… I get melon, pumpkin and courgette sprouting in 3 days in 25 degrees Celsius
