No, this man is correct. Loving and honoring Christ's mother isn't bad or wrong. Also, Catholics aren't the only ones that honor her. Every church that traces its founding to Jesus Christ Himself honors Mary. He didn't say worship, he said love. "Son, behold your mother" is what Jesus said to St. John as he hung on the cross. She is mother to us all and it's perfectly fine to love her.
