Actually the cpsc closed their investigation in 1983 without any recall despite breakers not tripping under load. I think the failure rate was 60% not really sure on that number. But yeah get rid of that thing.

I worked at a apt complex about 8 yrs ago and half the complex about 250 units still had em. still able to get replacement breakers for around $40 each. but yes bad stuff needs replaced. Just hard to get a complex to replace 250 of them

I’m sure that’s what all electricians say to keep their job going, I still got a fuse box with the old screw in fuses, and it works great
