@the.rooted.legacy: "Young Nipsey the Great. Never taught how to drink, I just lead to the lake." Cousins, seven years ago today, we lost more than a man. We lost a movement walking around in human form. On March 31, 2019, Nipsey Hussle was taken from us in front of his own store, in his own neighborhood, in the very place he was pouring back into. And that will never sit right with me. Nip was one of the few who stood ten toes down on knowledge of self and made it sound fly. He made you want to tap in, read more, think deeper, and move differently. He talked about ownership like it was non negotiable, talked about discipline like it was love, and talked about the marathon like it was life itself. Nip was a translator. He could take street language and turn it into economic literacy. He could sit in a boardroom and still speak directly to the block. Nip made investing, ownership, and legacy feel reachable instead of reserved and in losing him, we lost somebody who made growth look cool and a man who understood that wealth isn’t just money, but community. And that’s what we lost that day. Cousins, let today be a reminder that we didn’t just lose Nipsey Hussle the artist on March 31, 2019. We lost a teacher and the only way to honor a teacher is to actually apply the lesson.
