Roger found so absurdly human and pathetic that he couldn't help but laugh until he cried. This explains why the Giant Straw Hat is kept in a frozen vault; it is a cold, lonely memento of Lily’s bond with Joy Boy that Imu refuses to let go of. The Will of D represents the Dawn, the inevitable sunrise that will end Imu’s 800-year "Night" of grief and secrecy.
