@nz_patriotic_front: On October 31, 1917, the New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade played a critical role in the Battle of Beersheba by capturing the heavily fortified hill of Tel el Saba, enabling the subsequent famous charge by the 4th Australian Light Horse Brigade. This victory secured vital water wells and broke the Ottoman defensive line. #nztiktok #angloceltic #britishempire #anzacspirit #anzac

I’m 40 years old. I have the complete light Horseman uniform rifle Barnett that has been passed down through my family. 800 Australian soldiers charged over 4000 cannons and entrenched Turkish soldiers allied to Germany . The breed of horses they used was a waler which was bred in New South Wales from different breeds for war. After World War I finished all the soldiers were ordered to shoot their horses to not take disease back to Australia The only horse that came back was the generals horse which broke the man but they had to follow orders.

The horses were thirsty, but there was a water source beyond the trenches and the horses knew it. They ran for it look it up it’s true.
