I have a Rheem electric water heater that was manufactured in 1986 and is still fully operational in our basement. No leaks, still heats great, and apparently immortal. Plumbers who’ve seen it basically call it an elder god. We call him Roscoe, and at this point he seems less like an appliance and more like an ancient tree that just wants peace. 😄

I can’t believe they’re still making that dip dip tube out of PVC. I literally had one completely disintegrate peace by peace wound up in every faucet, dryer faucets, kitchen and showers. Clogged literally everything. Cost me a fortune. Why did they make that thing out of PVC pipe that disintegrates overtime?
