I def think your options are credible and valid even on ascension 0. The game does change quite a bit at A10 but the ground rules are still there and you can like and dislike cards. Every card has use but some are easier to get success with than others and some are sleeper win cons

dude the game is mid. im assertion 8 right now i play a ton. but the game isnt A GOD SEND GAME FROM THE HEAVENS.its just a mid card game that's pretty good for 1 to 2 games a day and you move on to another game. its not that deep

I got into sts1 like 3 years ago and have been playing STS2 since release. I am only on A8 with each of the Characters the reason I usually lose is because I see the S and A tier cards and yoink them. I know this is a satire post but just wanted to share my experience. GL with the Grind!

The tier of the cards dont matter, you wanna chase synergies. Knowledge of these synergies allows you to chase 1 or 2 to make a build and skip cards that dont fit it. Best not to chase a specific one blindly but be adaptable eg, building the soul draw engine for necro but after picking up a strong card for osty, you pick up more summon cards. Suddenly you have a strong draw engine, defense from osty and all you need is more osty cards to do high damage.

ngl sts1 was kinda a game where you can say a card is meh for a lot of time then for jiggles you decide to use the card and figure out its actually pretty good same thing is gonna happen here eventually

That's not how playing to win works in StS though... You often need to take low quality cards to survive act 1.

To be fair, you can always have opinions of a game, sharing them on the Internet is always going to get you flame. Unless it's an informed opinion. If you are creating tier lists or having opinions on how good or bad a character, card, mechanic, boss, relic, etc is, I would argue that your opinion holds less weight and gets more pushback if you are not experiencing the entirety of the game before forming that opinion.
