I don't understand why space can't be infinite? I mean.. sure it's trippy, but no more than time being infinite? To me at least..

Daniel Falconer :
Time and space are intrinsically linked in what we call space/time, it’s just how we perceive different dimensions. To a 2D creature, the third dimension would act like time

Space is finite? Have you got that proof then?

Just saying we can imagine something that doesn’t end, isn’t really accurate. We can imagine extremely vague approximations of some limited basic concrete things and then we can attempt very crude and ambiguous combinations of them… but we can’t really have anything remotely close to a coherent imagine of an existing infinity.

Time and space are large but ultimately finite fictions that exist inside of the imagination of the infinite consciousness that is the only truly real thing that exists within the void of nothingness. 🧘♀️🙏

If everything eventually expands to the heat death of the universe then time effectively losses meaning.

plus... you say space is finite but i have never not been able to fit another thing in to our drawer of random crap which seems to be infinite

If time and space are entangled, as we think they are in 4 dimensional model ... can one of them really be infinite while other isnt?

if time was infinite and space was not then you could travel to the end of space in an infinite amount of time.

infinities cut into segments seem unrealistic but the pond that freezes exponentially might take a million years to freeze halfway but only takes one day to freeze over the rest. that seems quite real.

Why does time get a special exception from the rules of other dimensions. if there is no space, surely there is no time?

- time is infinite 👍👍
- space is not finite 🙁👎
the correct answer is with the way we view the universe, we are bound to the light coming from the edge of the observable universe, the space beyond that is a territory that we humans can't imagine, but we can speculate..
+ space/time is expanding, if not infinity, i don't know what is !!

Time = Energy
There fore time is not infinite IF space is not infinite. Changes of states (time/energy) can deplete if space augments to deter resistance.

time would stop when objects in space will be too distant and too cold to exist. When all suns burn out the rest will freeze to absolute zero and disappear. when there is nothing to measure, there is no time

if time is infinite and has no end.. surely it has no beginning either. Time may never end but it must be true that time never began, so how can it exist?
