my daughter turns around in the pew and acts all cute until she can get people to interact with her then she starts laughing super loud. She's not two for another couple months and it's super cute but it's baddd. No one around us knows a single thing that was said because she's too busy trying to befriend everyone around her lol

My church had a note at the back of the bulletin handout that said a quiet church is a boring church, kids make it better or something like that. They added that because of me. Lol. I was the only toddler for a few years (all of the other kids were older) and I was a bit talkative.

Mom of 4 under 10. It’s ok to find a church that welcomes your kids. If you get negative reviews based on your kids, try again at another church! As long as they’re preaching sound doctrine, find a place that works for your family 💁🏻♀️. And my husbands the pastor, and my kids have taught him how to preach through the chaos. So don’t be afraid to try!

My hubby is a pastor. We love to hear the stomping of the feet and the crying. 🥰 consistency is key! My baby has been coming to church since 6 days old :)

The reason I knew I had joined the right parish was because our Monsignor got up before the final blessing and hymn and thanked the families of young children for showing up and acknowledged how difficult it is to get littles out the door and help them through Mass and how much easier it would be for us to stay home. This was before I got married and had my own kids, and it has always stuck with me. Since then, I’ve heard other priests echo this sentiment and it feels like such a breath of fresh air

We have kids 9,6,2, and 8 months we didn’t go as consistently for our older kids but they go to Catholic school. We got back to going every Sunday when this school year started and our 2 year old took time but now he’s got it. He’s at the hardest age but already he’s learned to be generally quiet. Sure he talks out loud sometimes loudly and drops stuff and laughs but it’s not embarrassing anymore and I know that as long as we stay consistent going to mass the will always know how to act there. Our priest also after a weekend mass where someone’s kid is extra loud (we have a lot of littles right now) will say at the end “wasn’t that so great to hear? All our little people!” So refreshing

My biggest tip is sit front row with your kids ! My kiddos behave so much better up front vs in the back and my oldest learns more when she can see what is going on. We sit front row every time for mass and if we have to we bring our kids out but we stay put through the small fusses.

we had 2 months where my daughter would get 20 minutes in and start screaming. no Jesus house i want mommy's house and things like that. then one sunday during the consecration she yelled no Jesus right as father raised the host. I had to bust out laughing (quietly). now she loves going to Jesus house and seeing Jesus. she's 2.5.

This is why I love the Orthodox Church. Children are not expected to be silent, and there’s no separate services for children, they’re welcome and expected to be in the Liturgy with everyone else. They’re the “holy noise” 🥰

Single mom here with 2 littles. Some days are hard. The priest just talks louder 😂 He said he’s just happy kids are in church and it’s part of it!

Find a church that has a daycare during church service. My church also has a family room- if you want to sit with your children(if they want to run or are loud), you go to the room and the service is live streamed on a TV.

We were out of church for a couple weeks at the end of my pregnancy and our pastor called us and told us the church was too quiet and that they missed us. We’re the only family with tiny kids and sometimes we feel like they are making too much noise. But then you hear stuff like the BBC hutch being too quiet and it make me me feel so much better lol.

Never fails now 1 year old always has something to say during a quiet moment in sermon and never fails at least 3 people come up after and say we love those noises don’t worry about it it’s a blessing etc

I so agree with this! It will become second nature. It won’t always be easy & sometimes, it’s embarrassing. But it’s always worth the effort! Mom of 5. Catholic school all the way for each!

Funny story just actually happened today we were touring my daughters new school and we walk into the 1st grade teacher room as soon as we walked in her room she was like “ohhhh I remember you guys from mass!! Your little boy was screaming for help because dad wanted to carry him“
