As somebody who also makes 100 K per year, I can tell you exactly where your money is going, and that is to income taxes. I am so pissed at the fact that on my income, I am paying more income taxes than anybody else in the entire country, including billionaires. This is why they say that anybody in that income range is basically supporting the entire nation when it comes to paying taxes. 24% of your income is going to taxes if you make that money. I’m frankly sick and tired of it. And the fact that I no longer have any sort of tax credits just because of the fact that my son is an adult and things like that, even though I did produce a child for the betterment of society and this crappy nation. Just because of the fact that I’m out here single with no dependents any longer and having a good career I’m literally punished in this country. And I have to pay a fortune for health insurance with my employer. We get absolutely nothing in return for what we pay in taxes.

In my case, I make a decent amount. At the end of the year, the IRS took half my of my income. It’s not lifestyle, living above means, it’s being single, no dependents and being punished lol

200k is what 100k used to be. Making mid 100s is comfortable for metro areas but 200k gives a lot more ease to do more.
