The plug not being grounded is not causing them to get shocked. My house was built in the 60s. The plugs aren’t grounded. I don’t get shocked. There is obviously something else going on that you don’t address here.

Wait so after you shut off the breaker the fault light was flashing but it was still reading 115 volts and you are saying that means it has no power? That is an awful design.

And none of that explains why the Customer is getting shocked when plugging something into that outlet

My house is built in 1950. It has no ground grounds and I don’t get shocked on every one of my plugs.

But if the neutral is good, you shouldn’t get shocked without the ground should you?

Weird, you plugged in the meter and you didnt get shocked. Sounds like they might have been gripping the metal. Just show them how to plug things in properly.

Congrats you grounded its but why were they getting shocked? Grounding it had nothing to do with fixing the problem.

I’d personally test it before putting the face plate on. Not a huge deal, but one less step if there’s still a problem.

So the appliance they were plugging in is damaged. Because there was no ground was not the reason for the shock.
