The plug not being grounded is not causing them to get shocked. My house was built in the 60s. The plugs aren’t grounded. I don’t get shocked. There is obviously something else going on that you don’t address here.

My house is built in 1950. It has no ground grounds and I don’t get shocked on every one of my plugs.

Weird, you plugged in the meter and you didnt get shocked. Sounds like they might have been gripping the metal. Just show them how to plug things in properly.

I’d personally test it before putting the face plate on. Not a huge deal, but one less step if there’s still a problem.

So the appliance they were plugging in is damaged. Because there was no ground was not the reason for the shock.
