I’m genuinely trying to understand this, not judging anyone. Can someone explain why people sometimes stay in relationships where there’s clear emotional or mental abuse? From the outside it can be hard to understand, because most people are capable of critical thinking and taking care of themselves. So I’m curious what makes these situations so difficult to leave. Is it fear, emotional attachment, financial dependence, manipulation, or something else? I’d honestly like to understand the psychology behind it.

Divorce. Even if there is missing content, your spouse should never treat you like this. Leave him and work on you.

Let them. You can’t control how someone behaves or feels, but you can control how you respond. Remember, he’s showing you who he is—and the silent treatment is a form of emotional manipulation.

They both have issues. Better to work on them first separately and then look into getting back together.
