Wrong Bert, it’s the Contractors responsibility to do a pre walk prior to the Inspector showing up. If the GC is seeing corrections for the 1st time with the inspector, that’s a huge problem.

As an electrical contractor for 25+ years I have a huge issue with "home inspectors" that think they are enforcing NEC but have no idea what they are talking about. Just received another call last week of a home inspection report with several issues that needed correction reported by the home inspector that are not violations of NEC. As a Crosslake local I appreciate your videos Bert!!

I can understand pre drywall issues but the majority seem to be closing inspections. The lack of common sense on details and final finishes, interior and exterior, makes me want to do everything myself. Sadly, It almost all looks rushed and done half-ass. :-(

Where I’m from we have inspections for - pre footing, pre foundation backfill, framing inspection, pre drywall, final inspection. As well as electrical and plumbing inspections. ———————————————98% of the time, inspectors don’t find any deficiencies on our builds and that’s the way it should be. So yes those contractors are doing a sh!t job!
