kiddos also need to MOVE to be able to "sit still" for all their reading and writing tasks. Kiddos that run, climb, jump etc are building the core strength they need, because sitting still is actually really physically challenging 💕

My sister is in kindergarten and is struggling with reading. Specifically she will see the first letter of the word and then guessing the word so when she’s reading a story it ends up entering her brain completely wrong. It’s got to the point where she may be held back. I’m going to start tutoring her but where do I even start and how do i help?

Then keep doing it while they are in school. Reading daily, talking about their favorite/least favorite parts of school, answering their questions about the world around them, doing these same activities (cutting, play dough, drawing), practicing emotional regulation. Keep encouraging them and your child will blossom!
