My two kids are now 18 and 19 I know they don’t need me any more but it’s still hard to let go when I have dedicated 19 years to them even home schooled them in their final years at school. Now I don’t know who I am any more I have no idea which way to go. I have a husband massively struggling with mental health. I feel completely drained of energy menopause is kicking my ass too !! How do I learn to love myself again 🥺

After 16 years of being a stay at home mom raising an 16 ,11 and 8 years old ,I found myself feeling not sure what to do with myself the time they are at school,I don’t know what I like or want out of live and I don’t know if I have a personality! I don’t remember when I got something that I actually love to wear or do something for myself,I can’t go out without my kids because I constantly thinking about them or wondering how are they doing? Are they alright? They need me right now? And I have to come back home to feel better.

I understand this mentality, but my (now adult) children are worth every ounce of the effort and I feel grateful that they still enjoy spending so much time with me.

I have never known who I was. I always remember having to cater for my parents, sibling, friends and now my own family. Now I'm very aware that this is the case. I'm so fuming mad at them and myself. I think I scare everyone because I'm so mad. I have no hobbies. I just want to be alone and only care for myself. How do I get out of this 😫?

Ok. Now what? It’s a serious question, how do I remember who I am? What am I without catering to my surroundings? Because right now, all I want and need is sleep. Distraction, Ignorance, just everybody leave me alone. I don’t want this to be permanent. Its kinda nice, but so fucking lonely.

God this hit hard! 2 years ago I had a break down! My last baby ( I have 4) went to school, my son turned 18! My other daughter got a house and I turned 40! All because I had no idea who I was anymore was hard to hear

Yes! I woke up to that realization and I’ve changed myself 100%. It was a terrifying moment of clarity. Now, I have boundaries, I started up with my own interests, I have eliminated people in my life who have no respect to my boundaries, I learned to value my worth, I learned the word “no” and meant it, I let go of the control seat…so many good things. It’s been really tough to do, but the benefits are amazing.
