Christina Applegate thought she finally knew what was causing her health problems. But after learning that her previous Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis was incorrect, the actress is now back at the beginning of a long medical search. The Dead to Me star revealed on her MeSsy podcast that doctors are testing her for several other conditions that can cause symptoms similar to MS. Among the possibilities are rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and Lyme disease. “So now I'm being tested for all that stuff slowly but surely,” Applegate explained. But the medical uncertainty isn't the only thing she's struggling with. For years, she openly shared her experiences as someone living with MS and connected with others facing the same condition. Now, she has admitted that discovering the diagnosis was incorrect left her feeling like a fraud and struggling with an identity crisis. Despite the change, her physical symptoms haven't disappeared. “You don't get misdiagnosed and then all of a sudden I'm better. I haven't gotten better,” she explained. She added that her condition has actually worsened and that she still needs a wheelchair to get from her car into medical appointments. Her podcast co-host, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who lives with MS, also reassured listeners that their show would continue because it was always about more than one medical condition.
