Sometimes a vaginal birth isn’t safe after multiple c sections. Just because it’s what she wants doesn’t mean it’s safe.

Medical care is supposed to be based on consent. This situation sounds inappropriate. It sounds like her rights were violated. It sounds like her birthing experience was violated. Statistically, I think race played apart in her part in these treatment choices as well. Somebody in control thinking they have power over somebody else’s body without their consent. From what I am hearing, she was clear on what she did not want.

This is crazy. A c section should be in the event of emergency. Not just because the hospital feels like, that's what they'd rather do.If she wants a vaginal birth and it is safe enough, which would be determined. Well, before labor with her doctors, The mother should have the right to choose that. I've had both and the c section was, by far the worst.

For background information, the reason why she was in court and struggling with the hospital was because the doctors believe vaginal birth would kill the baby. Because you are planning to carry the child a full term/give birth and it will become a future person that’s considered child endangerment or something similar under the law if you are well aware of the possible injuries or death that might occur. There are some reasons why a hospital might refuse procedures in general which is mainly due to liability reasons. The reason why this lawsuit is so prevalent is because there hasn’t been a middle ground between hospitals being private businesses that can technically refuse service to protect themselves and their patients, but also their hospitals and wanting to protect the life of the mother and the baby.

When I went through my C-sections, it was common practice to have C-sections after you’ve already had one because the scar tissue that forms can make vaginal delivery dangerous. I don’t know if that’s still the case.? but in the end, as long as she signed a waiver, understanding the risk to attempting vaginal verse then they should’ve left it at that.
