At their convention, everything comes down to one moral lens: we stand with the oppressed, against the oppressors. That’s emotionally powerful but it erases reality. The NDP claims to represent the working class, yet backs policies that erode their purchasing power, drive up energy costs, and restrict property rights... so long as those policies align with the ideology. It sounds compassionate but in practice, it often asks the same people it claims to defend to carry the cost.
