I keep getting boot errors with my sons year old $700 laptop. It will start, but like 80% of the time it gives me a kernel or watchdog error. One time it made me do this whole thing to get a bit locker code to login. Ive NEVER had to do that.

This is what I mean when I say I prefer console gaming. I cannot deal with problems like this. I always have SOMETHING happen and idk how to diagnose PC problems and don’t live around people that can fix them unless I drive 3 hours… plug and play for the win

Before you do this, make sure your drive is plugged in, make sure it is being recognized in the BIOS and is set as the main drive (HDD/SSD/SAS)

Had one that I suspected the same thing but the boot drive was a sata ssd and they plugged it into sata port 6 which was disabled. Moving to sata port 1 was the fix. Assuming that’s the only drive on the machine but may be good to check for any other existing drives first
