@bellafricana: Ghanaian sculptor El Anatsui @El Anatsui is known for creating large-scale, tapestry-like installations using materials like aluminium bottle caps and copper wire. His work blends African traditions with abstraction, often exploring themes of consumption, waste, and history. This piece, The Waves, was originally part of his exhibition After the Red Moon, created for the Hyundai Commission at Tate Modern (2023–24). It has since been reimagined as a site-specific installation at the Museum of Art Pudong in Shanghai. We love seeing African creativity expressed with this level of intention, pushing boundaries and shaping global conversations. What do you think of this installation?
