@cleoabram: Scientists say the best chance we have at finding alien life is to find a planet that looks a lot like Earth that orbits a sun that looks like ours. That’s because as far as life goes we have a sample size of one: our own planet. The trouble is the main way we look for exoplanets is through a method called transit photometry. This looks for tiny changes in the brightness of a star. Our star is VERY bright and Earth is so dim we’d be looking for a really tiny change at JUST the right moment and only if the planet actually moves in front of the star in the first place. We’re missing a lot of potentially habitable worlds! One idea could change that… #NASA #Science #space #technology

Why do we need to find life on other planets when we could make use of the life on our planet and take care of our planet, I’m not questioning science, I’m questioning the difference in choices, why can’t y’all use the money to fund projects that would save the earth we already have, like it’s so easy, all you have to do is instead of using the money to find life on other planets, use it to cherish the life we already have in ours

why we can't find aliens is because of the time it takes for the light to reach us. eg. aliens looking at earth they will be seeing earth in dinosaur time/ ice age or when earth is still being formed.

If we saw life on another planet, do we still think we can reach them? i mean it is the best and very interesting Discovery, but is it really reachable? the closest solar system to ours is 4 light years, which is over or higher 6,000 years to reach with the fastest space object that was ever made on earth, and also having a stunning 37,842,920,000,000 km away. that is only the closest solar system, but what about the planets on another solar system that we can see a life? that is so far that our currently fastest space object cannot reach them. it is possible because nothing is impossible, currently we aren't still space travelers. Btw, Space and time still affects us if we ever travel to space, and reach another life. 😭😭🥀
