For those saying it’ll be harder to land a job.. I’m a nuclear med tech, never went to rad tech school, I do have a bachelors in something unrelated. Nobody has never cared at all about not having x ray.

Mri tech from California here. you don’t need xray to go into mri BUT your jobs opportunities are limited compared to someone who has a CRT. Lot of hospitals out here won’t hire you if you don’t have a CRT (which is stupid af) but there is a few that will take you without.

Great career and decent money, but it is not straight to a six figure salary in most states. Maybe California or New York City but that’s probably it. Average salary is still great though a two year program.

This is the route I’m currently taking, we can also cross train into CT, mammo & Dexa without xray which helps you become more marketable!

You can go to Nuc Med or Radiation Therapy as well and cross train into the other modalities! If you do just MRI though you can’t cross train into other modalities.
