ok, but... by that logic, wouldn't it be fair to say the apple isn't any color? It's just warmer because it absorbed some energy? Color is about perception. It's not a physical property of the object. It's a biological interpretation of the energy emitted or reflected by the object, no? (This is a genuine question. I'm not an astrophysicist.)

my kids color changing night light always makes it interesting to view art with since the different color lights make the pigments appear different colors.

As a child, I often wondered if my version of a certain color was the same as other person's receptive version of that color. "Do I see that blue the same way another person sees that blue?" (Similar to the difference in reception of certain flavors with taste. Like when some people have a preference for a certain flavor that others might have an aversion to.)
