I absolutely LOVE hiking snacks. my bf and I typically do a lunch meat, veg/fruit, cheese, crackers, and almonds. nothing better than hiking for 3 hours getting to your spot and eating lunch before hiking 3 hours back!

I fell couple weeks ago and scraped my knees, I had some bandaids but now I carry hydrocolloid bandages and neosporin, that’s what I really needed

Something to wipe your nose with. It’s very common for your nose to run while hiking, and nobody wants to be rubbing that on your arm/random stuff you have.

Extra water if it’s hot. When you think you have enough put in an extra bottle. We ran out on a 100 degree day. Not fun. Luckily we were only about an hour from the parking lot

Take the tennis essentials. Wet socks are not a problem with their wool. I take a charger for a hikes over 10 miles but if you put your phone battery mode into low and use airplane mode, you will be fine. I teach a seven week backpacking course every spring.

Went on a short 3 hour hike in the snow and it was 15-25° the whole time. Portable charger actually saved me when my phone kept dying in the cold and the painted trail markers were covered by snow by the time I was heading back. Had to follow my path on strava to get back to the parking lot
