Can you speak to family dynamics where it’s not so much mocking, but it’s always teasing. I grew up that way and it made me uncomfortable, and now I’m seeing it in the way family members interact with my five-year-old daughter. Everything is teasing, everything is to try to get a reaction out of her, and I can see she doesn’t like it. Any advice on what to do?

Two sisters are/were passive aggressive. I am the oldest of 9 and was forced to care of my siblings at age 10, very messed up family dynamic that I am finally able to recognize and deal with

Could you talk about what healthy conflict resolution looks like? I grew up in a family where our parents would just stonewall me and my brother and then eventually act like nothing ever happened.

Is there a book you recommend that talks about this conflict and how to overcome it?

When you say the week or person in the family, you’re referring to the one that has empathy, compassion, etc. correct

So my family is identical to this. When my husband and I go visit my family, my husband is the “weaker” person. How do we set boundaries to stop this? Or how do we handle this cycle? My fear is we are on our way to being no contact with them because it’s not healthy for us to be around it and our children to see their dad get treated this way. We are tired, and have done a lot of our own healing, but every time we visit my family, it causes stress between my husband and sets our personal progress back
